In the present scenario, the people of the UK can live without one time meal but can’t think without a mobile phone. This all has come out in the research done by the UK telecoms regulator, Ofcom.  According to the UK communications officials, the people of the UK are more addicted to the smartphones. As a result it is becoming a nation of smartphones.

Being available with all top brands like Nokia, HTC, Apple, Samsung, LG and many more, today the market of the smartphones is at its height than any other type of phones. Specially talking about the mobile market of the UK, these smartphones are much more in demand among all group and age of users.

In a new report of Ofcom, it has been founded that, nearly 37 percent of adults and about 60 percent of teenagers are suffered from the addiction of the smartphone. Over 27 per cent of adults and almost 47 per cent are now owner of this hi-tech device. As a matter of fact, around 80 percent of smartphone users, never switched off their handset, even at bedtime, while the other 38 percent and 40 percent teenagers, used their phones immediately after being woken up. All these users send more text messages and make calls with their smartphones as compare to other basic phone users. Some of them also admitted that, the places like Library, cinema halls, examination halls, where it is restricted there also they make use of this device. The most awful thing in the report is that, some of the users don’t even bother to leave their smart devices out of the toilets.

All these reveals that, how fast the people are becoming contingent on new technology. But thinking with other aspect it is very bad, as the addiction of anything is always detrimental. This is only because of this appealing device that had change the taste of the teenagers for pastime. Instead of watching more televisions, reading books and playing outdoor games, today more number of peoples are attracted towards this device. So it is not wrong to say that, technology is not always for the benefit, along with its advantages we should also accept its drawbacks and try not get obsessed with technology.
